Gym Essentials

Hey guys, so I've been going to the gym lately and I want to make a habit of going every week. I wanted to share a few essential things to bring to the gym with you. I live two minutes from my gym which is so lucky!

1 American Apparel 2 pack Sweatpants | these are perfect for keeping your forehead sweat free (gross I know) but everyone gets sweaty and gross in the gym!

2 iPod nano armband | you can obviously get  different versions of this for different iPods and iPhones, but this is such a handy thing to bring to the gym. Sometimes the music that plays in the gym is rubbish and you just wanna listen to your own stuff.

3 Sweaty Beauty water bottle | water is an absolute must in the gym and why not buy a water bottle that looks cute too!

Absolute Abs iPhone app | I downloaded this app recently and it so good! It's like having a personal trainer in your pocket. It's all ab work, so cruches etc. It gives you set exercises and counts down the amount of time you should do it for and gives you short breaks inbetween. And its free!

5 Dove roll on | much needed before and after the gym.

6 Rimmel Stay Matte powder | just for a little touch up after your workout and to rid you of any shine.

7 Collection 2000 concealer | my fave concealer, for a little touch up.

8 Simple facial wipes | if you'd rather take your make up off and feel fresh, these are my usual wipes just because they are soft and not dry and horrible like most wipes!

9 Carex Hand gel | this is much needed after touching all the equipment.

So there you go, some essentials for your gym bag! Happy Wednesday x

Recent Purchases/Mini Haul

Top | Jack Wills
Jeans | Jack Wills

First off is my new work uniform from Jack Wills. The top is just simple stripes and is a thickish material which will keep you nice and warm! The sleeves are three quarter length and it has a pocket detail with a pink stitched logo. The jeans are amazing! I love all the jeans at JW but my favourite are the super skinny ones which are stretchy and super super tight!

Bag | Primark (£12)

This beauty is from Primark but looks so good for a cheapy bag! I was out shopping with my best friend and she got the last one in our Primark store so I had to have one too, naturally! So I got my mum to hunt for one for me. Luckily she found one!

I had some stuff to return from Topshop so I decided to get some make up bits instead. I haven't tried any of the Topshop make up before apart from their nail polishes. Ps. Sorry for some grubbiness.  I've been using these two products loads since I got them!

Lipstick | Topshop

Firstly was a lipstick in the shade "Whimsical", it's a peachy pinky nude that feel really creamy and smooth on the lips. It also smells so nice! I really wanted some everyday lipsticks and this is perfect for that. It's a really pretty shade that warms a pale complexion. I think this was look amazing with a tan as well.

Blush | Topshop £6 (cannot find this particular colour online)

This is a cream blush which is also very peachy pink toned, as you can see from the swatches next to each other, the blush and the lipstick are very similar shades. This is also very creamy but its slightly stiffer which makes it last longer on the cheeks. I like to dap a few dots on the upper part of my cheeks, rather than the apples of my cheeks and blend in with my finger.

Lipstick | MAC Cosmetics

As well as my new MAC foundation that I picked up, I also got this satin finish lipstick in the shade "Myth". It's a tan, nude colour. Another 'everyday' colour that I wanted. It's a Satin finish so it's very pigmented, soft and semi-matte. It's also quite conditioning which is a plus in this cold weather!

Have you bought any new things recently? Or tried any of these products? x

Instagram: Outfit of the day(s)

I've started to do OOTD's on my Instagram and I'm going to post them on my blog every now and then. I haven't posted in a while so here's a little post.
As you can see I have been wearing my new necklace literally all the time - It's from H&M and was about £7 I think.

1. H&M necklace, Topshop jeans, Topshop Chelsea boots, H&M grey cardigan and my standard Topman hoodie with my Barbour jacket.
2. Casio watch, Topshop shirt, Primark mens jumper and American Apparel leggings.
3. H&M cropped jumper, H&M necklace, Topshop velvet leggings.
4. American Apparel beanie, Barry M black nails, H&M black long sleeved dress and H&M necklace...again.

Also I'm wearing MAC lipstick in the colour Myth in all the pictures.

Spend or Save? MAC Studio Sculpt VS Revlon Colorstay

I have recently bought two new foundations one of which is the MAC Studio Sculpt in NC15 and the other is Revlon Colorstay in 110 Ivory. The two are quite different but I do like them both. I am going to review both in this post and go through any pros and cons.

First off I'm going to talk about the MAC Studio Sculpt that comes in a 40ML tube at a price of £24.

This foundation is a gel formula which makes it really creamy and thick but it's lightweight on the skin. I really like the texture of it. The smell is quite strange, it smells a bit like paint with a sort of sweet smell as well. The tube packaging is really handy for squeezing the right amount out. It's a medium to high coverage foundation, so you can build it up or wear a thin layer to get a medium coverage. It has a dewy/satin finish and it's really good for dry to normal skin types, so if you have oily skin this is a no no! I find that I have to set this foundation with powder because it transfers quite easily and it doesn't last that long through out the day! I find that it can cake around some of my more oily parts of my face like around my nose and chin (I have combination/normal skin).  For some reason I still like this foundation because of the texture and I just love putting it on my face!

So to summarise I'm going to list the main pros and cons about this foundation.

Pros:
- Gel formula gives a really nice creamy texture.
- Gel formula gives a flawless finish.
- Good coverage but not heavy on the skin.
- The tube packaging is really good to get the right amount of product out.
- For £24 I think it's good value for money,
you get more than the average foundation (40ML instead of 30ML) and you can use it all up as it's in a squeezable tube bottle.
- Large and good colour range.

Cons:
- Some people may not like the strange smell it has but I weirdly like it...
- You have to set this foundation with powder otherwise it slides really easily!
- It doesn't last that long and cakes in areas.
- Transferes easily.
- One of MAC's most expensive foundations.

Next up is the Revlon Colorstay that comes in a 30ML bottle at a price of £12.49, which is a higher price for highstreet/drugstore foundations.

This is a liquid foundation which feels a lot less thick and more lightweight than the MAC foundation. It comes in a glass bottle without a pump which is annoying! But this foundation is a drugstore gem, it gives a really good medium to high coverage. I never really need to set this with powder and it pretty much lasts all day. This foundation also comes in two different formulations, one for normal/dry skin and the other for oily skin so you can buy the perfect one for you!

Pros:
- Good price for a really good foundation.
- Lasts a long time.
- A good colour range for a drugstore foundation.
- Lightweight but good coverage.
- Comes in formulations for normal/dry skin and oily skin.
- Don't need to set it with powder.

Cons:
- Doesn't have a pump so it isn't easy to get the right amount of product out.
- Slightly more expensive than the average drugstore foundation.

I really do like both of these foundations but I think the clear winner is Revlon Colorstay and I will definitely be repurchasing it as a staple foundation. I really want to buy Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation because I've heard amazing things about it. I would definitely recommend both of these foundations but I am a big fan of the Revlon Colorstay.
