What's in my bag: Going out/NYE

I thought I'd do a "What's in my bag" post but a going out/NYE version, so the sort of things I would generally take with me on a night out but this is what I'm specifically taking out tonight.
My clutch bag is from New Look and purse from Topshop.
Mini deodorant - you don't want to be sweaty and gross when your out and looking gorgeous!
Mini Alien perfume - perfect to touch up your scent.
Hair grips - just in case your hair doesn't co-operate.
Hair band - and again in case your hair is not behaving!
Rimmel by Kate red lipstick - for bathroom retouches.
Cocoa butter Vaseline - for when your lips may feel a bit dry.
Braceletes from H&M - add some sparkle to any outfit.
Mini blonde hairspray - making your hair stay in place all night.

My Alien perfume that I got for Christmas came with two minis! Perfect for taking in your bag when your scent starts to fade and so much better than taking the whole bottle.
These braceletes from H&M are perfect for my outfit tonight, I may post some pictures tomorrow of what I wore!
I literally adore my new purse from Topshop! So pretty.

Have a lovely NYE whatever you do! xx

Christmas Beauty Haul: Part 5 Other

The final part of my Christmas Beauty Haul! Hope you liked it and hope you have a happy NYE!
First is my Alien perfume, I've loved this scent for ages now since I was like 13 or something! Sephora say that the notes are "Solar Accord, Jasmine Sambac, Green Notes, Cashmeran, Vanilla, Transparent Amber." I honestly don't know much about perfume 'notes' but if that helps anyone get an idea of what it smells like then that's great but for me I love to go into the shop and actually smell it. I also really like the bottle design with the sort of transparent purple glass and gold.
Next is my Stippling brush from Real Techniques. I've wanted a decent foundation brush for some time and I've watched many youtube videos about the Real Techniques brushes. They are affordable but quality brushes that you can buy in Boots and online. This particular brush works really well with foundation. I really want to get some more of these brushes as I think they are really good for the prices.
This set of Stila brushes were such a nice gift, I haven't heard much about Stila brushes but they are good as a starter for a brush collection. The foundation brush and concealer brush worked really well for applying a heavier coverage. The large eyeshadow brush has also worked quite well, some of the hairs have started to come out but I'm not too bothered. Overall it's a nice set to have and start you out with make up brushes.

That's it! My Christmas Beauty Haul is complete, hopefully it has been interesting or helpful in some way! Happy NYE x

Christmas Beauty Haul: Part 4 Nails

Here is part 4, sorry it's a bit late! Happy NYE!
First is American Apparel Glitter nail polish in Constellation with long strands of silver glitter. The actual nail polish is clear so this would look good over any coloured base. I also love the packaging that AA's nail polish comes in.
Next is Butter London in Tart with a heart which I'm in love with! The glitter is quite fine and the colour is mainly gold but obviously changes in the light. This looks really good over a nude colour and gives a rose gold sort of colour. I really rate Butter London nail polishes in general and hopefully getting another one soon.
Next up is Maybelline Forever Strong Pro from the new metallic collection. I don't think these nail polishes have names but this is a high shine purple colour, I haven't used it yet and purple isn't a usual nail colour for me but I'll be nice to try it out soon.

That's it for my nail polishes! One last post will be about some of the other beauty bits that I got. x

Christmas Beauty Haul: Part 3 Lips

This is the 3rd part of my Christmas Beauty Haul featuring my new lipsticks from Rimmel and Barry M.
I have numbered the swatches so you can see what they are called.
1. Rimmel Moisture renew lipstick in Coral Queen. The swatch looks more orangey that it actually is, it's more pink in real life. I love this colour, it's a pinky peach. It's also really moisturising and feels lovely on the lips.
2. Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate in shade 01. This lipstick is more matte than the other but it's not drying. It's a classic red shade, a must have in any make up bag.

Next I have three Barry M shades that my lovely boyfriend bought me (aw boys buying make up is cute) only annoying thing is that they aren't named, they are numbered so to avoid confusion, I will number them by the large number printed on the bottom of the lipstick. (because there is a smaller number on them as well)
3. 144, this shade is a dark pink that is sheer but the more you put on the more colour goes on. It's moisturising which is good for a Barry M lipstick as some of their more pigmented ones can be very drying.
4. 146, this is a lighter sheer pink which is also moisturising. I have a similar colour to this from Barry M but it's really pigmented and a more day glow shade which is quite drying.
5. 141, this is my favourite out of the three. It's a dark red colour with glittery/shimmery bits that give it a little bit of a golden tone. It's lovely!

So that's it for the lipsticks for my Christmas Beauty Haul, I shall be doing the other bits soon as well.

Christmas Beauty Haul: Part 2 Eyes

As promised this is the 2nd part of my Christmas Beauty Haul which features all my eye products that I received this Christmas.
First is my favourite, the 'Undressed' eyeshadow palette from MUA. The colours are just so gorgeous! It features a selection of matte and shimmery eyeshadows in all different shades of golds, bronzes and browns. Then there is also a shimmery black and a shimmer silver/dark grey. The second from the top left is my favourite out of them all, it's a lovely rose gold colour and is so subtle and pretty.
Next is another MUA palette 'The Artiste Collection - Multi-use Palette.' with 6 marbled eyeshadows, blushers, a bronzer and a highlight. I must say I haven't tried this out as of yet but I may do a review on MUA products and include this with some swatches! The colours look interesting and it will be good to try some out for different looks.
You guessed it! Another MUA product, this trio eyeshadow 'Smoke Screen' is perfect for smokey eyes.  The eyeshadows are really pearly and shimmery which I love. One thing I would say is that you should just throw away the brushes that come with MUA products, they are cheap and rubbish but you get what you pay for. I'd invest in some decent brushes to apply eye shadow as it make it so much easier and looks a lot better.
Last but not least are two mascaras. Volume Million Lashes by L'oreal Paris and The Falsies Volum' Express Mascara by Maybelline. I haven't tried the L'oreal one yet but the Maybelline The Falsies is so good! I know that Tanya Burr rates it highly and I love the Volum' Express mascaras from Maybelline so this was an instant winner for me. It has a curved brush to help create longer, more curved lashes and  you can use it to wing out your lashes at the side!

As I said before there will be more parts to my Christmas Beauty Haul so come back for more soon.

xx

Christmas Beauty Haul: Part 1 Face

I was lucky enough to receive some lovely beauty bits for Christmas. I'm doing this post in parts because there is quite a lot, I've divided it into Face, Eyes, Lips, Nails and Other. Some of the stuff I haven't had chance to try out properly but I shall do more in depth reviews on a few products at some point.
First are two foundation that I bought myself after Christmas, I wanted to try out new foundations so I looked up some reviews on the best drug store foundations. These two seemed to be winners so I thought I'd try them. I've tried the Revlon Colorstay so far and I really like it. It stays on well and gives good coverage. They also come in different formulations, one for Normal/Dry skin and then one for Oily skin.
Next is the MUA primer, which was a nice little stocking filler. I haven't really used Primer before and didn't see much point but this one has so far worked for me. It kept my make up on for longer and looking flawless.

The Origins Clear Improvement face mask was one I have been wanting for ages and finally got it! Yay! I haven't yet tried it but I will soon and I shall do a review on it. I also got Mud Therapy from Superdrug as a stocking filler, I will be interesting to see how the two compare, I may also feature this in an up coming review along side the Origins mask.

Lastly is the MUA Pro-Brow eyebrow kit. As you can see I have tried this out already! (Sorry for the messy palette) this is a handy and easy eyebrow kit which is very good for the low prices that MUA charge. I want to upgrade soon and get a more high end eyebrow set, but this is a good one to have.

That was all the face products, I shall do the other parts to my Christmas Beauty Haul shortly! x

Festive Make Up

Seeing as it's Christmas Eve I wanted to do some festive make up and of course it's always affordable and inexpensive! I hope it gives you some inspiration for festive looking make up. I started with my usual foundation and concealer. I then used Rimmel Stay Matte powder to give a more flawless looking finish.

For my eyes I kept it simple with a warm cooper/gold colour from MUA which I reviewed in a few posts back. Then I added my usual black flicks with Collection 2000 liquid liner and mascara. I've heard that gold shades are great for blue eyes and helps warm up a pale complexion.
For my lips I lined them with Topshop Lip liner in Deception (not pictured) I put on some Cocoa Butter Vaseline to add moisture and shine. Then I went over that with MUA deep red lipstick in shade 1.

Have a lovely Christmas xx
